I did a whole series of pop-up windows on Dr. Anita Pepi's website for people to sign up for her informational eblasts. Pop-up windows are pretty annoying, so I did a series of them throughout her website, hoping to make them fun and engaging---and to get people to fill out the forms! I also wrote the copy.

A couple of business card designs.....
DFS Okinawa hired me to do a series of illustrations and icons for a product line for the Okinawa store. I designed them to look like traditional Japanese mons (which are icons used to decorate items as well as to identify an individual or family).
This is basically an assemblage of a bunch of vintage imagery that I liked. The mermaid is so odd; I wanted to build imagery around her.
This is a wave icon I did that appeared in one of my commissioned art prints---this one for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Many of my vintage art prints have been strongly influenced by Japanese woodblock print art of the Edo period (1700's Japan). Instead of representing the ocean waves in a more literal fashion, I created this symbol of ocean waves. You can see the art print here.
These are various icons I've designed for myself. My great admiration of Japanese design is what inspires me to design and use little icons on my art whenever I can.
LIttle Big Jim is a fictional character from a series of stories my brother wrote for his children. The stories all take place in the wild west.
Berkeley has BART, but not, technically, a subway. Subway signage has been all the rage for wall art. What I did was to use the streets and locations of my childhood neighborhood and created a subway sign for my brother.
Like any graphic fanatic, I love love love letterpress printing. A Scandinavian theme for Christmas seemed like a good idea. Did coordinating stickers for the envelopes. Clients: Digital Engraving and me.
